"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
One of my favorites too. Also saw him in person, can't recall when it was so long ago, must have been in the 70's. I think it was at the old Boston Garden.
ReplyDeleteAs you say, great entertainer and an amazing athlete.
Thanks to Curly for all the entertainment and athleticism! I can only imagine how many kids he inspired, and changed lives. RIP.
ReplyDeleteThey even came to my hometown (pop. 5300) back in the 1960's. It was a big deal at the time, and there was a packed house. Curly Neal and Meadowlark Lemon are the two I remember being the stars of the show. We had seen them on TV, of course, but it was still fun to see them in person. His dribbling routines were impressive.
