"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
First noticed her in a Marx Bros movie, Big Store? I like the stone-faced deadpan act she does, so different.
ReplyDeleteThe deadpan shtick apparently got started by accident, when, early in her career, she became petrified in front of a live audience and sang a number without any animation. The audience simply thought it was part of the act and loved it, so she continued using the routine.

Hilarious song! I think I posted it several years ago, and I still like to visit it, from time to time. Virginia O'Brien was as cute as a button.
