LOL!

I ordered a few boxes of ammo from Ammo Supply Warehouse, and they arrived in one big package with this label on the outside...

And they did, too!

My local gun store has ammo in stock. I'm going back for some other stuff tomorrow so I'll be picking some up. They have plenty of .45acp and other stuff I need.
I'm trying to buy local instead of online. I haven't ordered from Amazon in months.
Although, I did just get some mags from Classic Firearms.
I've been ordering gun stuff lately.

I'm on furlough, it was supposed to last until 6/1 but they haven't called anybody back so II gave them until 7/1 but now I'm looking for work. I'm sick of sitting home getting fat(ter).
For the first time, I'm taking unemployment.
AZ unemployment gives you an account at Bank of America, who I know hates guns so I make sure everything I buy gun-wise I use their card. I hope it pisses them off.
I really do.

I had good luck in the ammo search too. I shoot 75gn .224 boat tail hollow points in my 223's. Everybody has been out, I have some back ordered at Midsouth but no telling when they'll arrive. Well my guys at evergladesammo.com(the best) got some in yesterday morning. I ordered at noon and it shipped at 2, so by Saturday I'll be happily reloading in volume. It's a good week, shoot tomorrow, new scope Friday and bullets Saturday. Not to mention another new scope next week. Life is good.

Paco, if you have any trouble buying ammo you might like to give thanks that you don't have to cope with Australia's gun laws. In about 3 weeks, we will be moving from our hinterland farm to the beach at Southport (QLD, not NC). That means that I will no longer have a valid reason to own any guns nor buy any ammo. I could only sell my rifle and shotgun to another licenced gun owner and he had to get a Permit to Acquire. Friends have quipped that I will have more need for a gun in Southport than I had on the farm.

Yes Skeeter Gold Coast news always has interesting stories:

Skeeter, that's just sad. But if Biden is elected, I imagine it won't be too long before we're struggling with similar restrictions in this country (attempts to impose similar restrictions, that is).

Bruce, can you tell what that thing is? It's definitely a heavily-modified something-or-other.

V I hope things turn around for you soon. Keep sticking it to the (B of A) Man with those gun-related purchases!

I would have to go all the way to Wilmington to find ammo if I wanted to buy it at a store, and the last time I was there, I went to a couple of shops and they were charging triple-A, gouge prices for most items (although I did manage to find a reasonably-priced box of .38 Super). I hate paying shipping charges, but sometimes the all-in cost is less than buying at a store these days.

Spent some time this week trying to correct a problem I have with a S&W model 58 (.41 Magnum). I bought the thing years ago, and was so excited to get it, I left the store without doing a detailed inspection. Then I put it in my safe for six months before taking the thing to the range. When I finally got out to the range, I noticed that it was shooting to the right, and then discovered, to my great consternation, that the revolver had a canted barrel - looking from back to front, the barrel was twisted too far to the left, so in lining the front sight up with the rear notch sight, I was pointing the gun too far to the right. I began to check out the possibility of getting it fixed, but read a lot of criticisms online about how S&W took forever to correct this kind of problem, didn't do a good job half the time, etc., and I've had a hell of a time finding a reliable gunsmith. Finally, though, I put the problem to my live-in engineer (Mrs. Paco) who suggested putting a blob of glue up against the right side of the front sight and painting it green, and using that as my sight. So we did that, and I took the gun out to the range, not only to see if this fix worked, but also to make sure the glue didn't melt in the hot sun, riding at the tip of a hot barrel. Sure enough, it functioned pretty well, and the glue didn't melt. It looks a little rough, and I had to sand the glue down a bit, but my new "fiber optic" front sight lines up perfectly with the rear sight. I intend for the gun to be a regular shooter, anyway, so if it appears a tad strange, I don't care.

I have plenty of ammo, and magazines.

What's unfortunate is that I no longer have any firearms, after that unfortunate canoe accident. In retrospect, transporting the entire gun safe across Hood Canal during a storm was ill advised.

That's odd about the Smith & Wesson.
You should at least contact them and find out what they'll do about it.
I've found it's best to contact gun makers via email, they respond in a few days.

I tried to get a Remington Tac-14dm last week, they aren't making them right not. They claim they're not discontinued, but they're not in production.
So I tried to get the Mossberg Shockwave with detachable mags, they're not making them either. At least I got on a waiting list for one of them.
Oh well.
I saw a regular Tac-14 for $1,000 on Armslist, they were less than $500 new, I bet the guy got the grand. They're not making them either anymore.

ARs are few and far between on Armslist, and they're mostly over $1,000. Gee, I wonder why?
The funniest overpriced gun on Armslist was a S&W M&P Sport II for $1,100.
They were around $500 new and they're still making them. You can get one at a gun store.

Steve: Same thing happened to me. But I'm sure, when the time is ripe, I'll be able to find my guns again. You see, I painted an 'X' on the side of the boat when I accidentally slipped them overboard.

V: Yeah, S&W had quite a problem with quality control a while back, although I hear they're getting better. Canted barrels seemed to be their "specialty". I also hear that Ruger had similar problems. That's why I'm getting increasingly wary about buying brand new revolvers online. I may shoot them an email.

That's interesting about the shotguns. I don't know why Remington and Mossberg would stop making the raptor-grip guns altogether, even temporarily. People love 'em. I think I paid between $400 and $500 for my Tac-14 a couple of years ago, and you're now seeing them go for a grand, used? Amazing. I suppose the pandemic is playing havoc with production. About the only new shotguns you see online these days are long-barreled hunting shotguns.

I have no idea Paco and was hoping someone here had some idea what it is.

Paco:
"...I accidentally slipped them overboard."
In my boating days, that was referred to as "they failed the float test".
I hope for you that the US will never have the Oz restriction that firearms can't be used for self-defence unless your assailant has you out-gunned. More importantly, your guns must be kept in a locked gun-safe, with ammunition kept in a separate locked container along with any removable rifle bolts. So you need to have a fair amount of advanced notice from an assailant that they intend to kill you with a bigger gun.

Hmmm. Seems a bit much.

"G'day, Mr. Burglar. How about doing the sporting thing and let me unlock my gun and ammo cabinets, and then assemble and load my rifle? There's a good fellow."

Amazon has gone full climate change fanatical. Their commercial touts that they will be carbon neutral by 2042 by using renewable energy (insert footage of windmill farms), and a fleet of electric vehicles. They proudly state they've purchased the fleet already.
