Paco Enterprises wishes all of its employees a happy Labor Day. Go ahead and knock off an hour early this evening.
"Gee, thanks, boss!"

I finally got back to work after 5 months last week and lo and behold, Labor Day!
ReplyDeleteI was furloughed supposedly from 4/1 to 6/1, I gave them until 7/1 until I started looking for a different job, I liked the last one.
It took me 2 months but that's because a lot of CNC folks were looking for look at the same time.
Welcome back to the workforce, V. Didn't know you had been out so long.
ReplyDeleteOnly an hour off? You are a piker.
ReplyDeleteMy first ship in the Navy, I had a department head who once told us we'd done well over the previous month and that in recognition we could work only a half day, i.e. twelve hours.
Literally, half a 24-hour day? Mwahaha! I need to apply Naval standards.
ReplyDeleteJeez, don't give him any ideas Steve.
ReplyDeleteI gave them 3 months after they said 2, it took me 2 months to get a job. I was starting to get worried. A lot of guys must have been laid off in CNC, every job had 100 people applying.
I only got 4 interviews in 2 months.
One, I didn't realize it was entry level peon, another they decided I didn't have enough experience, which ticked me off because my resume didn't lie.
I got two offers the same day and took the one that looked better.
