Richmond, backed by Roy Milton and His Solid Senders, belts out “47th
St. Jive”.
She was a "shouter", for sure. I don't think that this applies to her, but I heard that Big Joe Turner used to sing songs while tending bar, and without benefit of electronic amplification, had to "shout" the songs to be heard over the noise in the saloon; hence the origin of "blues shouter".
