I'm going to remember those companies that are happy to sell me .32 acp ammo at 45 cents per round, as long as I agree to buy a minimum of 1,000 rounds.

Cheaper than dirt has 50 .40 S&W or .45acp for $56.
ReplyDeleteRat bastids.
There's supply and demand and then there's price gouging.
They've done it before.
I've been buying local but I figured I'd check.
I was going to get some 1911 mags from them. Not any more.
Brownell's has decent prices on magazines, Veeshir. I picked up some 1911 and AR15 mags there.
ReplyDeleteWhile I prefer to buy ammo in bulk, I dislike being scalped. That price for .32 ACP is outrageous. Yeah, don't forget them.
SG Ammo and Georgia Arms are good people
ReplyDeleteClassic Firearms is the outfit pulling this crap. They have three types of .32 acp, as I recollect (a couple in FMJ and one in JHP), and each one had a 1,000-round purchase requirement. Maybe they've decided to go wholesale, I don't know. I think bulk buying is a good idea, generally, but I wouldn't use a thousand rounds of .32 acp in five years. I did find a better deal elsewhere. I don't want to knock them too bad, because I've had pretty good experience with them in buying firearms and ammo in the past, but this kind of thing is annoying. V, you're certainly right about CTD; I'm not so desperate that I'm going to pay over a dollar per round for 9mm or .40 cal. Full disclosure: I did buy my Uberti/Cimarron 1873 from CTD, because I got the lowest all-in price compared to a couple of other places I shop.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I took my Rossi 92 lever action to the range today, and instead of pounding my shoulder into hamburger with .44 Magnum, I substituted .44 spl, and it was s-w-e-e-t, very little recoil. And the sighting seemed to be dead on.
Anon: I have had good dealings with SGA; I haven't done any business with Georgia Arms, but I hear they're good.
I guess my 7 or 800 rounds of .380 is worth a lot more than I paid for it. And I have exactly the same number of rounds that I had 2 years ago. Primers are a different story, no rifle primers even on ammoseek.com.
