China's favorite U.S. Marine speaks out

"James Mattis’ Call to End ‘America First’ Prompts Swift Backlash".

And, yeah, by all means, let's stay in Afghanistan for another 20 years for the purpose of...well, when you figure out exactly why, General, you be sure and let us know.

Arrogant, insubordinate s**thead.

Update  I hope this is true, because it's probably the only chance General Flynn has of avoiding further ruinous legal defense costs (and, possibly, staying out of jail): "President Trump to Pardon Gen. Michael Flynn, Per Report". This is not the best outcome, but the corrupt and moronic judge who has been presiding over Flynn's trial seems to be able to act with considerable impunity, cheerfully thumbing his nose at higher courts, so this may be the second best alternative.

By the way, in case I haven't said it before, I love my country but my government can go to hell.

Yeah, I read that Mattis had become a consultant to a think tank tied to the CCP. At that point, he became part of the Deep State.

I read the paragraph quoted on Ace by Mattis. Lot of manipulative jargon, typical upper management buzz talk.

However beneath the jargon, what he is saying sounds insane and dangerous, like a megalomaniac. Eisenhower's military industrial complex expanded ad absurdum. Dr Strangelove, all that stuff. I hope some meme artist inserts him and his talk into a Dr Strangelove clip actually, just to show how crazy it is.

This:
'(W)e hope they will quickly revise the national security strategy to eliminate "America first" from its contents, restoring in its place the commitment to cooperative security that has served the United States so well for decades. The best strategy for ensuring safety and prosperity is to buttress American military strength with enhanced civilian tools and a restored network of solid alliances--both necessary to achieving defense in depth. The pandemic should serve as a reminder of what grief ensues when we wait for problems to come to us.'

Eh? WTF?

No prosecutor in sight wasn't good enough for Judge Sullivan to dismiss the charges against Gen. Flynn, in spite of controlling law that says he must. What effect do you think a presidential pardon will have? Will the judge decide that he has the right to look into the president's motives in issuing the pardon?

According to my Marine grandson, Mattis was not as revered by the rank and file as his media PR would have had us believe. I wonder what they think of him now.

So how many more American lives do we sacrifice on the altar of globalism?

I eagerly await the stirring new recruiting slogans and ads to come.

Good to hear from you again, Arts and Ammo! I think a presidential pardon is irrevocable, and motives are not germane, as far as I know; on the other hand, who knows what new charges the Deep State may cook up?

Rebecca: I wouldn't be surprised. That ascetic, "warrior monk", beloved-by-one-and-all p.r. always had a whiff of bovine excrement about it.
