I know it gets cold in many parts of Texas, but this has got to be a once-in-a-lifetime event, right? At least, we hope so. Stay warm (have you guys got power?)
The last time there was snow like this was 1985. Thanks for asking, Paco. We're (by which I mean Richard and I and eight cats) are trying to stay warm. The power came back steady a day ago after doing rolling blackouts earlier in the week. It is frigid and the energy betters are asking everyone to conserve lest it take down the grid. It's the same request during summer. Water has been restored. Heaters, and blankets (human and horse) are sold out. Gas is becoming scarce. TP and some foods are or have run out. But it's warming. Today the high: 43, low: 23. Tomorrow, high: 58, low: 42.
They blame it on the wind turbines that iced up, but That's just one part of the equation. They never mention the grid is not designed for this size population. Don't get me started about the electric car scam.
NOAA had predicted a warm winter. As Richard just said, "Oops."
Nice. That would be her then husband Dave Barbour on guitar I guess.
