Pelosi's just messing with us now. Won't be long before she cuts the constitution up into little strips and rolls joints out of 'em: "Retired Lt. General Honore Too Partisan To Lead Capitol Security Probe".
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s pick to lead the review of Capitol Hill security faced scrutiny among Republicans. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) took to Twitter Wednesday and said retired Army Lieutenant General Russel Honore is “an extreme partisan and should be the last person to head up an investigation.”
In a now-deleted tweet, Honore reportedly made derogatory remarks at Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and called for Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) to be canceled. In addition, Honore spoke to MSNBC last month and said protesters should not simultaneously be allowed to exercise their First and Second Amendment rights.Yeah, this ass-beret ought to turn out a fine, objective, non-partisan report, alright.
I read this guy's Wiki entry, and am at a loss as to how this clunk got to be a Lt. General.

He was best known for commanding the military relief for Katrina.
"Here's a bottle of water."
We seem to have a lot of bad generals out there.
I'm more interested in how insurrectionist-general Mattis became a Marine, Semper Fi, general.

Ok, that literally made me lol.
"For conspicuous gallantry in tending to the hydration needs of the people, the General is awarded the Hurricane Cross, with cluster of Perrier bottles".
As to Mattis, I'm wondering what a truly deep dive into his career would divulge.
Honore's "Don't get stuck on stupid!" comment is likely the highpoint of his career.
ReplyDeleteAs for how he made flag rank ... ... alas, too many officers were promoted because who they knew. And, sometimes, even less relevant qualities. I knew far too many of them.
IMHO in today's army general officer promotions are based on who you know not what you have accomplished.
ReplyDeleteHow And why was Ashli Babbitt killed?
It's pretty clear Generalissimo Honore got his rank through the all too common "knowing which butt to kiss".
ReplyDeleteSure looking that way. Wikipedia is frequently inaccurate, incomplete and biased, but the amazing non-existence of information about how this guy went from joining the Army to being granted "various command positions" is mighty curious.
