Who was Mr. Schwamp? Well, he was an extra on The Andy Griffith Show, appearing in more that two dozen episodes, although he never spoke a line. The thing is, nobody knows who he is. Nobody remembers his name, nothing is known about his history. The following video provides what few details there are.
Followers of the elusive career of Mr. Schwamp have uncovered at least two sightings of him in movies from the 1940s (look at the background characters and you'll spot him).
