This is where the resistance to federal overreach has to take place: at the state and local levels. The national Republican "leadership" suffers from terminal pusillanimity and can be counted on for no help whatsoever (imagine Mitch McConnell standing at the podium in the Senate shouting "Ich bin ein Keystone Pipeliner!").

That's a good start. Of course, more states should follow their lead.
