"Trump launches Republican civil war with attack on 'hack' McConnell".
The headline's misleading: McConnell, himself, declared war on the base a dozen years ago when he threatened to crush the Tea Party, and he revived his belligerence when he launched that despicable attack on Trump after the impeachment vote. The article, however, includes some choice observations on Myrtle the Turtle.
"Mitch is a dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack, and if Republican senators are going to stay with him, they will not win again," Trump said in a statement issued by his Save America PAC on Tuesday evening.
"He will never do what needs to be done, or what is right for our country. Where necessary and appropriate, I will back primary rivals who espouse Making America Great Again and our policy of America First," he added.
McConnell is just standing in the swamp, munching ferns, stupidly watching the asteroid streaking across the sky. Trump may have been robbed, but 75 million Americans aren't about to line up behind Mitchosaurus.
Update Even Lindsey Graham thinks McConnell blew it.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell “got a load off his chest” with his speech closing out Friday’s second failed impeachment attempt against former President Donald Trump. “Unfortunately,” however, “he [also] put a load on the back of Republicans. That speech you will see in 2022 campaigns.”
Who’s responsible for that quote? It might surprise some it wasn’t Donald Trump Jr. or Rep. Matt Gaetz — it was Sen. Lindsey Graham, a moderate, hawkish Republican not up for re-election for six whole years.
They can't help themselves, they have to lie about everything.
ReplyDeleteHow does Trump "launch an attack" when he was responding to McConell calling for him, Trump, to be arrested and thrown in jail.
Myrtle really needs to be primaried.
I'm still in favor of every incumbent in every elected positiion to be voted out.
Get rid of the town Recorder of West Nuttin, Alaska.
Give ol' Mitch a break. He just wants to make sure he doesn't get disinvited from the all the sweet DC dinner parties.
