Yeah, all the way back to 1939 and Bob Crosby's band, which is the first version I ever heard. It really is a distinctive melody. Here's the background.

ReplyDeleteI think I first took note of the song What's New in Linda Ronstadt's 1970s version which is great. But of course the song is from way back.
