Viva la contrarrevolución!

I'll say: "Conservatism' is no Longer Enough".

The great majority of establishment conservatives who were alarmed and repelled by Trump’s rough manner and disregard for “norms” are almost totally clueless about a basic fact: Our norms are now hopelessly corrupt and need to be destroyed. It has been like this for a while—and the MAGA voters knew it, while most of the policy wonks and magazine scribblers did not… and still don’t. In almost every case, the political practices, institutions, and even rhetoric governing the United States have become hostile to both liberty and virtue. On top of that, the mainline churches, universities, popular culture, and the corporate world are rotten to the core. What exactly are we trying to conserve?

Update  Btw, here's a great example of a Republican who needs to be retired: "Vermont GOP Governor Opens Up Covid Vaccine Access to People Who Identify as Black, Indigenous or Non-White".

  1. Except for the principle of equal rights, Vermont only has 1.4% Black and .4% Native Americans, it's not much of a much.

I worked for the federal government during the first Clinton administration; that's when the first initiative to make the government "look like America" started.

We didn't know what the definition of that was; I still don't think we know.

  2. Your numbers show that the practical impact would be negligible; still, it's pandering, and I suspect this kind of pandering ultimately will be shown to be unconstitutional - and I could easily be wrong about that, given the apparent timidity of courts these days, up to and including SCOTUS.
