Hey, June is BLT pride month!

Oh, wait...no, I mean LGBTQ pride month. Let the head explosions begin...

  2. I shall remain in my lane, as the wokesters persist in telling us all to do, and ignore the PDQEIEIO# day/week/month/quarter/year.

Besides, I don't get "Gay Pride." Proud of being gay? Seems to me like being proud of being left handed. Or bald. Or tall. I mean, you're born that way, right? I am acutely aware of being left handed, and I expect that I encounter more issues related to my handedness daily than gay people do related to their sexuality. I am not going to join a Sinistral Rights Organization (although that term right there is linguistically odd). Nor will I march in any left handed pride parades, not wear any ribbon (I assume there is one, yes? Oh, no, there is not - because being left handed is all about adapting and going on with life).

  3. As a practical matter, I'm basically live and let live, but I resent the continuous efforts of gay activists and the Democrat/Media/Corporate syndicate to not only provide legal protection for gay people - that's perfectly fine - but to compel everyone to accept the moral neutrality (or even the moral good) of sexual acts that historically have been condemned by practically all societies and religions, and are still considered objectionable by most people of orthodox religious faith. Also, the whole "pride" thing is being expanded to encompass a wide range of depraved behaviors, the acceptance of which is now being mainstreamed into our school systems in an effort to destroy the very concept of innocence.

Do what you will, folks, but for me it all boils down to "that ain't where it goes", and don't try to force me to believe otherwise.

  4. Well said, Paco. I've long resented those activists (metaphorically speaking) shoving their genitals into everyone's face.

Keep it in the bedroom, please.

  5. Homosexuality was actually never illegal, for the simple reason that it did not exist* until Alfred Kinsey. What WAS illegal was buggery, and that was because it was often a form of rape on an unwilling victim.

*Now I'm a historian so I can add a lot of qualifiers to my bold claim as we 'scholars' are supposed to do - Of course there were people before Kinsey who wrote about the *idea* from the late 1800s at least, and there were a small number of people who quietly lived in such 'relationships'. BUT before WW2 it's very hard to find anyone who was *exclusively* homosexual as we now are supposed to define it. And they can cite 'repression' and all that. To that I say, what's wrong with repression? Even now, feminists demand that men repress their urges - so apparently repression isn't bad for everyone. No the current narrative elevates some to 'holy' status who should be encouraged to let it all out like witch doctors, while normal white males are at the bottom of the hierarchy.

And I've know a lot of 'gay' people, some good friends, even an uncle. It's not persoanl but a matter of historical fact! :-)

  6. Bruce: What, indeed, is wrong with a little repression? Who in his right mind, for example, would encourage a psychopath to just let it all hang out? Good points.

  7. "Who in his right mind, for example, would encourage a psychopath to just let it all hang out?"

I thought that's what people on the left were already doing every day. And next week, my dear Paco, you will be branded a psychopathophobe and scheduled for re-education.

  8. Yes, sorry, but these days instead of treating mental illness we celebrate it. Instead of valuing strength we grant power to the weak and fragile.

  9. A&A: So, about this re-education camp. Do we get a continental breakfast or a full buffet? I'm going to need something substantial if they expect me to drag a sledge over the taiga.
