"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
Milk Duds were okay, but not one of my favorite candies. Especially in the summer, when they would tend to melt together into an unmanageable mess. Plus, the caramel was too sticky.
ReplyDeleteBTW, when I was a kid, I always wondered why they named them "Milk Duds". "Duds" doesn't seem to generate a favorable image for a product.
Where can you find Milk Duds today? Those were one of the few candies that I could easily eat in moderation. I think it was the sweetness of them, a few would set me up fine and I wasn't so likely to look down at an empty bow or bag some time later with no recollection of how that happened.
ReplyDeleteI love Milk Duds. I also see the add refers to Black Cow, which was a caramel bar on a stick dipped in chocolate (Slow-Pokes was just the caramel bar, without the chocolate dip). Brings back delicious memories!
