And now, a word from our sponsor

  1. I never liked Jack. I like other whiskeys but just don't care for that.
I used to drink vodka and tonic, at the time I dated a girl who drank Jack and Coke.
Bartenders invariably gave me the Jack.
Made me question my manhood that did.

  2. I can't drink any whiskey without a little soda water. Except for apple pie whiskey.

Just not into alcoholic beverages, much, anymore. The father of a friend of mine used to make a gin and coke drink, with a squirt of lemon, that was delicious, and I enjoy a glass of Drambuie once in a blue moon, but I typically go months and months without a taste.

  3. Reminds me how 1970s girls all had some mixer with coke which was 'their' drink.

Bacardi and coke, Tia Maria and coke...

Meanwhile we guys experimented with harder stuff. I recall one starry summer night we had a Tequila party, lip, sip, suck... until we felt we could just reach up and touch those stars. Aah, youth!

These days I only drink at Christmas and reunions when someone brings an expensive bottle which usually tastes great. Otherwise I never have any luck buying my own (that's my excuse!)

I don't want to end up like my brother whose liver is nearly gone either.

  4. lick salt, and suck a lemon, not 'lip' of course. I must have a touch of the 'Joes'.
