And now, a word from our sponsor

  1. There's a convenience store and gas station a couple miles from me that has gone through a staggering number of brands. For a brief time it was Sinclair. Haven't seen any in a long time, just checked their website and the nearest is across the Sound in Seattle.

  2. Wow! I didn't know Sinclair still existed. I was just reading up on the company, and it's been through all kinds of changes, but it's still out there. I remember seeing a few Sinclair stations in North Carolina when I was a kid, but they all eventually vanished (or were bought out by other outfits). My brother and I had two inflatable "Dino" floaters which we took to the beach and promptly ruined by riding them in the surf (lots of sharp seashells). And my favorite local restaurant, Eric's Diner, has an old Sinclair gas pump on display.

  3. There's a Sinclair some 5 miles from here -- they are all over the inland Pacific Northwest.

  4. I'm glad to know that. Like most kids, I loved dinosaurs, so this was my favorite gas station.
