For some reason, Poe's The Masque of the Red Death comes to mind

"DJ posts stealth pics of Obama’s ‘epic’ birthday party — before being forced to delete them".

Update  Zero Hedge has an embedded video with a short sequence filmed at Barry's Bacchanalia showing the birthday boy, himself, shuffling around on the dance floor like an old man with corns walking on thumbtacks (scroll down).

  1. That's exactly what I thought.
How awesome would it be if Obama's bash ends the same way Prospero's did?

  2. poe was very bizzare, like some other greats the line between his genius and madness was a bit blurry... today, the madness could possibly be treated, but with treatment might come a loss of the genius.

  3. I think I read somewhere that Dostoevski got some of his greatest inspirations shortly before the onset of his periodic epileptic seizures.

As to Poe, if he wasn't actually mad, he certainly understood madness (The Tell-Tale Heart is a good example of his insighfulness).

  4. Veeshir: It would be awesome, indeed. Terribly tragic, naturally, but definitely awesome.

  5. Frankly, I'm just amazed at the company he keeps. Puckered old Democrat politicians and celebrity trash...the guest list really underscores what a third-rater Obama always was.

  6. Ok, I was being kind because it was Barry's birthday; he's really a fifth-rater.

  7. Yes about Poe, but I mean the lack of self-awareness in our elites is bizarre. The way they just can't help themselves falling into stereotypes as if a movie script. And the comparison to Red Death really brings that out. (Obama after all seems to have been fixated on Heart of Darkness for example, but was that just because it's a short easy read? :-) So you'd think Poe comparison would have occurred to him.

Epstein's island was like something out of a gothic novel. Are these guys really so unaware of how apocalyptic (in a bad way) they look? 'I know this looks bad, but...' - some explanation is what we'd usually expect to hear. Instead they carry on, like demonic interlopers.

  8. Maybe Obama gave us a gift. Every time the authorities start bleating about masks and mandates, everyone should just break out the photos of his birthday bash. And yes, he does dance like his feet hurt. His apologists will just say that's his white half.

  9. It's okay, NYT reporter Annie Karni informs us that it was a "sophisticated" crowd.

No doubt the menial staff was equally sophisticated.
