Sometimes the tortoise wins the race...

...and sometimes his slow a$$ just gets run over by a truck and the buzzards eat the remains. Mitch McConnell, a/k/a the Turtle, has become practically a cartoon caricature of an unprincipled RINO. "Mitch McConnell Insists Biden Won't Face Impeachment Over Disaster In Afghanistan".

"I think the way these behaviors get adjusted in this country is at the ballot box," said McConnell at an event in Pikeville, Kentucky. "The President is not going to be removed from office with a Democratic House and a narrowly Democratic Senate. That's not going to happen."

Now, in point of fact, he is correct: House Democrats are very unlikely to initiate impeachment hearings - as the House is currently constituted (i.e., Democrat majority). But the odds are pretty fair that the GOP may take back the House in 2022, and Biden's criminal negligence in handling the Afghan withdrawal will still be something easy to demonstrate; that evidence isn't going away. And there are vulnerable Democrats who might actually go along. In any event, why not keep the pressure on, why not signal disgust with the actions of Biden and his handlers by at least keeping the impeachment ball in the air, why essentially foreclose the possibility of any action against Biden, why tell America that we have no choice whatsoever but to resolve to accept this dangerous clown at the helm until 2024? McConnell was perfectly willing to see Trump impeached, and only backed off when he found out there weren't enough votes in the Senate to convict. Now, he's all about the sacredness of the ballot box? Or does he think the donks can't pull off another stolen election?

My point is not that Biden is ever likely to be impeached; my point is that somebody like Chuck Schumer ought to be making that argument. In describing how a path to impeachment is mathematically improbable, or even impossible, at the moment, McConnel is failing to point out that such a step is nonetheless richly deserved.

  1. The Turtle loves his cash flow and benefits, hence he is in favor of the status quo ... ... even if it makes him look like a craven quisling.

  2. He sure does look like a craven quisling - he also looks like a bucket of half chewed salt water taffy somebody dropped a couple of googly eyes into. But that is a side issue which need not detain us.

  3. In his defense, President Cacklin' Que Mala.
The competency wouldn't change, but it's bad enough having Biden walk away from non-ice cream questions, her cackling at them would really suck.

  4. I don't care. Biden has always been an a$$hole, now he's an a$$hole hiding behind his dementia. I'm sure I could come to despise Harris in the same degree, but, for now, Biden is such a revolting political abomination I want him gone.

  5. I look at it that it's already horrible that they cheated that scum into the presidency.
I really don't want that cackling, despicable, incompetent harridan to be able to say she was POTUS.

I've had to accept Obama can say that, she's worse. It just makes me sad for my nation and gives me contempt for the voterate.
If revenge or karma is a factor, it's also abuse.
Think of the indignities perpetrated against him to make him look sorta presentable occasionally.

  6. I have observed Biden for nearly 40 years, off and on, and he has always been a stupid, blustering blowhard, a man of no honor and no dignity, a pathological liar, a smirking oaf. My contempt has matured over the decades into a fine patina of deep-seated loathing. Harris is less than nothing to me, a fifth-rate poseur, a lightweight in virtually every sense of the word; her cackling doesn't bother me because I never watch her or listen to her (and wouldn't, even if she were president). Biden is long-time open sore on the body politic who has done incalculable damage to this country. My reason tells me there's nothing to choose between them, but my abhorrence of Biden has become a visceral thing for me.

But, if such a thing is possible, I hate the RINOs and self-appointed faux-conservative "thought leaders" even more than I detest Biden. He, after all, is simply a born ass and a politician who never pretended to be anything but a thoughtless Democrat partisan; the others, on the other hand, actually betrayed the people they sought to "guide" - and they did it mostly in return for nothing more noble than filthy lucre. They can all go to hell, with my compliments.

  7. . They can all go to hell, with my compliments.

Agreed. Biden is a long standing festering sore. The RINOs are traitors.

  8. I didn't really come alive to politics until 9/11, so I never paid much attention to Dopey Joe until he became Vice President. That's when I watched and realized how much contempt Barack Obama had for him, and saw the reasons why. I still don't understand why the Democrats went all in for him in 2020, unless it's because they just didn't have anybody else. The result of that has been catastrophic. I agree with Paco. A pox on all their houses, and off to hell with them.

  9. Democrats went all in for Joe because he is an easily manipulated party loyalist.
