Touching...
From Powerline's The Week in Pictures.
"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
That last one must be in a Chinese restaurant. Coming back from Europe in 1991, I had the opportunity to talk to a young Chinese guy on his way to a US university to study. When I mentioned I grew up on a farm, he told me his dad had a small farm, and raised 'piggens'. I said, pigs? No, piggens. I finally realized he was trying to say pigeons. I asked what his dad did with the pigeons. "Eat them", he said. I didn't know anyone ate pigeons.
ReplyDeleteI dunno, maybe they taste like chicken? :-)
They eat anything in China.
ReplyDeleteWell, a friend of mine hunts and eats doves, and pigeons are in the same family, so I guess it could happen. Not much meat on them, though. Nasty birds, incidentally.
ReplyDeleteSquab is baby pigeon, I know people eat that.
ReplyDeleteFeathered rats say I.
Feathered rats, indeed!
