Does anybody know what kind of car this is? The photo was taken, I believe, in the late 1930s or early 1940s in Chile. The "ghost" in the photo is someone I edited out.
Update Speaking of Chile, I just learned today that the country's national sport is...rodeo. Even Mrs. Paco, a native of Chile, didn't know this. We are aware of the importance of the huaso (Chilean cowboy) in Chile's history and culture, but the fact that rodeo is the national sport came as a complete surprise (H/T: Bro Paco; I have no idea where he stumbled across this information).
It resembles the old 1948 Nash I drove my last year in high school, but I can't say that's what it is. I miss that old car. My dad paid only $50 for it, and it would probably be worth a fortune today.
ReplyDeleteTry a 1937 Buick Roadmaster
ReplyDeleteRodeo indeed.
ReplyDeleteHowever Chilean rodeo .... is not as other rodeo.
Horseback riders in tandem use their horse to pin cattle against the arena wall.
Quite something to see!
Steve: Thanks for the info. I checked on YouTube, and there are several examples of what you're talking about.
