Oak Island is a barrier island that runs east to west just off the mainland of Brunswick County (therefore, the beaches face south), so you get to see the sun rise at one end and set at the other.
I don't watch the Oak Island show often, or through a full episode because while it is fascinating, it is disgusting to see the destruction and loss of archeological evidence.
I'm trying to figure how the sun sets over the ocean, but I'm guessing that South Carolina is just over the horizon?
