Tammy Bruce knows the real score.
IIRC in 1990 Christine Todd Whitman ran against Sen Bradley in NJ. She was considered an under dog by the nation party and got scant support. She lost narrowly to the incumbent. Another example of the GOP surrendering before the battle is joined.
ReplyDeleteYeah, once when I lived in Northern Virginia, the Republican candidate for U.S. House of Representatives for my district came pretty close to unseating the Democrat - falling short by less than a thousand votes. And it always seemed to come as a "surprise" to the GOP establishment that the Republican had done so well. I can't even remember hearing a single radio ad for the Republican, or seeing a local TV spot, and yet he came within an ace of scoring an upset - but the GOPe, I guess, just assumed he didn't have much of a chance, so little or no national campaign money found its way into his budget.
ReplyDeleteThe Republican machine is run by a combination of self-serving parasites and total idiots (with considerable overlap between the two).
