I was raised in a household with guns. Whew, it's a miracle I survived to adulthood.
Also: According to a new analysis of data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's WONDER database, almost 40,000 people died as a result of guns last year, making it the highest number of firearm-related deaths since at least 1979.
You have to wonder how many of these 40,000 were killed in stinking little civil wars in places like Africa or South America or the Middle East.
Strange, I saw some other news articles that referenced gun-related deaths of 20,000 last year. I believe these inevitably include suicides, police shootings, Alec-Baldwin-type-dumbass accidental deaths, gang killings, etc. One would have to have accurate data and do some parsing in order to draw any useful conclusions.
