I go way back with people from India, but that statue seems whacky. Or it may be seen as visionary in future generations I don't know - he *was* a founding father of their democracy with a major role. Funding was probably mostly from Indian billionaires so that's not an issue. But it looks like a personal vanity project by the Prime Minister Modi. It could have been smaller surely.
