Given how hapless, incompetent and ineffective SF city government is, what would you possibly bribe one of them to do? I mean, what possible service could they offer?
Or maybe Junior is just practicing for the big time, hoping to follow his mother into the world's second oldest profession.
None of these people are baby boomers yet the popular theme says that we are to blame for all this. If you look closely, it's curious how many people in public life are NOT boomers. How many Presidents? Bill Clinton, Bush and Trump, that's all. You'd think our demographic superiority would lead to greater influence than that.
Instead boomers are mostly mid-ranking middle class, worker ants who made it all possible, but rarely leaders. We were the mass market for older folks to get rich when we were younger - music, movies, politics, etc.
It's uncanny how reality is the reverse of the narrative.
It always amazes me how people from wealthy families, like Pelosi Jr., will hang around with criminals and will commit fraud and other crimes even though they don't have to. They don't lack for money, so why do they do it? I guess it's the thrill of doing something the plebs can't get away with.
For probably 200 years or more we've joked about electing pols sleazier than the sleaziest used horse- or car-salesmen. And here we are. Congress has done one laudable thing in 250 years, and that was in July 4th, 1776. The rest has been graft and corruption.
Rebecca: Maybe the allowance he was getting from Mommy wasn't big enough, so he went to where his folks go to get it - big shots looking to buy favors.
V: You're right about that. I've mentioned before the maddening experience of listening to coworkers from Chicago, for example, practically bragging about how corrupt the place is.
