Treating a politician with the respect he deserves

Courtesy of friend and commenter Steve at the Pub, we have a video of French citizens in St. Pierre & Miquelon hurling something other than words at their representative, who is having some difficulty persuading them of the wisdom of his support for the vax mandates.

  1. This keeps getting better!

His impact upon public life is such that this incident, of him being a sanitation target is the only thing on his wikipedia page (except his birthdate)

The wikipedia entry warms my heart by mentioning that this .. treatment.. has also been dished out to several other French politicians.

  2. Courtesy of Babelfish, here’s a translation of the French:

    Original

L\'agression de Stéphane Claireaux à son propre domicile lors de la manifestation contre le passe sanitaire est absolument inacceptable. Les images sont profondément choquantes.

    Translation

The attack on Stéphane Claireaux at his own home during the demonstration against the health pass is absolutely unacceptable. The images are deeply shocking.

Correction: the images are extremely amusing.

  4. In my humble opinion, we could all learn something from the people of St. Pierre & Miquelon.

    I like their style.

(So he's "lodging a complaint" about being used as a refuse target?
We can all imagine just how little the folks of St.P & M. will care about that!

Back when Sea Shepherd complained to Paris about being ..er.. cut loose..by the island, the official French view was: "Go take that up with the Prefect in St.Pierre!"

  5. "Lodging a complaint". Haw! Perhaps the local magistrate will turn the tables on the fellow and accuse him of creating a public disturbance.
