Looks interesting

Over at Frontpage, Danusha V. Goska reviews a new book by David De Jong titled Nazi Billionaires: The Dark History of Germany's Wealthiest Dynasties. I haven't read it myself, but it seems to offer something of a counterbalance to, say, the National Review types who are always making excuses for big corporations in the name of "private enterprise". What these faux conservatives overlook (perhaps intentionally, since NR receives substantial funding from corporate fat cats) is that government and business (and organized labor, too) don't necessarily maintain a system of equilibrium through competing with one another in the realm of ideas and money, but, not infrequently, act in cahoots to fleece the citizenry - and commit far worse acts, as this book attempts to demonstrate.

  1. Is anyone here familiar with British comedian Russel Brand's YouTube channel?

If you have seen it, what is your opinion of his views on what is happening in the world these days?

  2. I vaguely recall he was kind of a knee-jerk leftist several years ago. He seems to have been red-pilled, though. At least, he certainly seems to detest the rising tide of wokeism.

  3. I just discovered his channel a couple months ago, and have been watching some videos that I thought might be interesting. I assumed he would be a leftist, but was surprised he seems more libertarian and pragmatic than leftist. If you can make it past his accent, he is well spoken and it sounds like he has a team helping in his research on the various topics he covers. He certainly isn't a fan of Klaus Schwab and the WEF, and I'll admit, he has opened my eyes to what the 'global elite' have to offer us (not in a good way, tho).

His channel is growing fast, so what he's saying must be resonating with a lot of people. So I'm sure Google will eventually find a reason to ban him.

  4. The main support for woke causes outside the US is among women. When men congregate on their own in person, things Brand says are not unusual.

Note that what he says is compatible with old leftist anti-Americanism. I have an old school friend who is a full-on Greek Communist, and these days he says all the same things, about globalism, Klaus Schwab, Soros, the Great Reset. He didn't change his views, it's all compatible with his old style leftism. He lived in London for many years but now is on a Greek Island to escape the (woke) corporate fascists, especially their 'vaccines'. (Yes Greek laws are harsh but I hear enforcement is not, especially if you're Greek!)

The last 2 years have been decisive, women tended to embrace the fascist security state. Men quietly resist and opt out as much as they can - since women control all the media now. Brand is just one of many, able to speak plainly because he's made his fortune and has nothing to lose.

  5. I used to believe that the Nuremberg Trials were a genuine effort by the Allies to punish the Nazis.

Later, I learned otherwise. The story of Werner von Braun is one example. Granted, the Soviets were a major threat, but some of the compromises and deals cut with Nazis and their supporters were less than optimal in the long run. More hangings were definitely in order.
