For awhile, when I lived in Richmond, Virginia, Henrico County (which partially surrounds the city) had a police chief who had previously been with the Highway Patrol. It was said that you could rob, rape and kill, but you'd damn sure better not break the speed limit. An interesting case of skewed priorities brought on by tunnel vision.
How many human traffickers, serial killers, mass murderers, terrorists and anarchist hoodlums has the FBI let slip through its grasp because it was too busy doing the bidding of its political masters in the Uniparty administrative state, chasing populist politicians and hauling trespassers off to jail? Here's something these criminals with badges should contemplate: the once all-powerful Beria and his faithful followers within the police apparatus of the Soviet Union were eventually eliminated, and their deeds exposed for all the world to see. Even in oppressive societies, the weight of evil can lead to the collapse of the offending institutions and the people who run them. In a country with hundreds of millions of citizens who have a long tradition of freedom and just laws, and with tens of millions, at least, for whom these things are not just vague concepts but sacred rights, do you think you will fare differently?

If I were elected president in 2024, the very first resignation I would demand would be Christopher Wray's - or, preferably, just fire him.
Brian Auten's name should become general public knowledge. Also, defund the FBI. So all those agents lost their jobs, I hear there are a number of cities who are desperate to hire cops.
