Democrats and other warm-mongers continue to howl and rend their raiments, stoking their fears with cli-fi fantasies that are now leading to very disastrous results in countries which have implemented radical "green" policies (e.g., Sri Lanka, where "organic" farming has led to a collapse in agricultural output and the possibility of starvation; see also the crisis in the Netherlands and Germany).
Joey Flan-Brain has actually floated the idea of taking executive action to combat climate change in the U.S., and, given the catastrophic effects on the economy and our social structure that would ensue if he were to manage to enact something truly radical, I believe that might just be the match that would light the fuse of open rebellion.
Whatever pen and phone hogwash Dopey Joe Burden tries to impose is going to get challenged in the courts. Right now, lawyers are raking in the gelt.

Joe is trying to be the second coming of The Lightbringer, and his 'energy prices will necessarily skyrocket' policies... and he too is making a lot of people unhappy after he who must not be named showed us the truth about our domestic energy reserves.
