Which doesn't mean that our STASI isn't serious about trying to make some kind of charges stick, regardless of the odds; that would be Plan A. But Plan B is where the Left really hopes to score; the idea is to create so much confusion and doubt in the minds of a certain class of swing voters - those low-information, clueless paid-up-members of DENSA whose political views are based on what they saw and heard the last time a news channel grabbed their attention for five minutes - that they vote for the anti-Trump. I doubt that this strategy will work, either - not this time. Too many normals - who do, indeed, know the score - will be fired up to vote. Of course, they were in the last election, too, and Trump still "lost", because of cheating, massive support from donk billionaires, and Republican fecklessness. There is evidence that steps are being taken to control the circumstances that make item 1 and 2 possible, and Trumpist candidates are doing well in the primaries, so maybe we will see some changes in item 3, as well.

Not a nothing burger because 1) it ties up so much, and 2) casts doubt on Trump and Repuicans. Of course, when the Dems have their own criticizing them, as in the case of Geraldo Rivera....
A legal nothing burger, i.e., I think there's only a remote chance they could nab him for a crime.
2 problems with the nothing burger.
First, there are a bunch of Hawaiian judges who are just itching to convict him of something.
Second, all the Important People who might protest have been getting an object lesson in how the FBI will destroy you if you go against the State.
And even if Roberts doesn't decide that Getting Trump! is a tax, the Supreme Court justices who might be inclined to dissent know the Dept. of "Justice" isn't going to protect them, that's been made quite plain.
Then, the NYTimesWashPostCNNABCCBSNBCETC. will explain how it's all legal and only evil Right Wingers think otherwise, Facebook and Twitter will ban all discussion of how it's wrong.
The only mystery is who they're going to install as POTUS in 2024 and how Americans will react to all the cheating in the elections in November.
I just hope they find someone named Sharls Davis Kendy to run for POtUS in 2024 for at least a little humor.

Gregory, I think you're right - which is a measure of the Deep State's desperation. Trump has beaten them all before, many times (save for the 2020 election), and I believe he will be harder to take down than leftists hope and many conservatives fear.
