Joey Flan-Brain gave a speech last night, filled with his usual malignant hogwash, and delivered in his trademark blowhard style. An interesting touch was to give such an inflammatory speech - in which he denounced half of America's people as a threat to the Republic - in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, against a backdrop of dim, ghoulish red lighting, and a couple of U.S. Marines standing guard. The speech, which was advertised as non-political - and, indeed, about an ethereal subject, the "soul" of America - was, of course, an extremely vituperative rant against anybody possessing the temerity to oppose his own rule-by-fiat, and the Democrats' push for what is effectively a one-party state.
For Biden, this is all just more of the same: "Biden’s Sinister ‘Soul Of The Nation’ Speech Wasn’t His First Attempt To Target Political Opponents".
Personally, I believe Biden's interest in America's soul is not that different from De Niro's interest in the human soul...

I assume the presence of the Marines was to remind everyone who is the Commander in Chief. Those Marines will be expected to give a cheery "Aye aye!" and fix bayonets and advance on Peoria or Duluth or wherever Joe decides the fascists are.
ReplyDeleteHow reliable will the US military be, I wonder? Ten years ago I would have said there was no chance it would move en masse against Americans within the boundaries of the US. Now, I have my doubts. Certainly there will be some conscientious objectors who refuse to shoot Uncle Dan and Cousin Emma. But I have a bad feeling that there will be enough who will obey orders. Maybe Joe does have enough tanks and F-15s. But more to the point, he'll need ground forces to go into the neighborhood and wipe out the "MAGA Republicans."
I think Joe and his supporters and "go-alongers" in the military and the rest of government are overlooking the possibility - the inevitability - of casualties occurring on their side, in the event of a civil war. It's all fun and war games until some big shot is sent home in a zinc-lined coffin.

ReplyDeleteYeah, well, given that there are mindless fascists in the military (and there are, make no doubt about THAT), I still say that the lefties are in huge denial about any success in stomping out Americans who disagree with their objectives. And I'm pretty sure there are more than 74 million of them ....

Very good read, JeffS, and right on the money. That's why there won't be a shooting civil war in this country, because one side of it wouldn't be able to tell one end of a gun from the shooty end, and more importantly, wouldn't be inclined to try despite all the tough talk.
ReplyDeleteI'd also add that the military take an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America, so top brass like Thoroughly Modern Milley might find themselves fragged if they tried to order troops into combat against Americans. The military can only operate because of its noncoms anyway, and they are a mean bunch who don't take shucks lightly.
After all, look what the Ukrainians have done to the Russians, if you want an example.
Lastly, I think Combat Joe is talking trash not to make Democrats rise up into an army, but because he thinks some out-of-control nutbag somewhere will probably commit violence against some social justice bigwig on his say so. Then the Leftocrats can start screaming gun violence and gun confiscation again.

ReplyDeleteRebecca, that's a valid point, but it's incomplete. I would say that MOST of one side doesn't know a muzzle from a butt.
Alas, there is a definite leftwing militia movement in this country: antifa. Ace points out they are active in Texas and other areas of the country (such as Portland, OR, which is being brought to its knees), and they are aggressive.
Then we have all those weaponized federal agencies, with plenty of weapons and ammo (although their training might be lacking).
And it would be trivial to move a bunch of like minded lefties into the same military unit, which could then create chaos over a large area.
So there COULD be a shooting war -- and there is, in some areas, to some degree. The Rose City Antifa (the Portland crowd) routinely opens fire on people. It just ain't to the level we saw in Serbia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Yet.
But while these groups could be a real problem, none of them would find it simple to deal with an enraged population that was engaged in low intensity conflict against their logistics base.
A point that Biden and his handlers are ignoring.
Look at a county voting map of the US. Imagine all the red counties nuked (if Swallwell gets his way) or simply droned and air struck into submission. Then imagine the viability of the blue metropolitan areas with all those icky red places turned into wastelands.
