Knock on wood

Early results indicate that Chilean voters have rejected the proposed new constitution.

All and sundry have called it the most progressive constitution in the world, which tells you all you need to know. Let's hope these results hold up.

Update  Voters have, in fact, decisively rejected the proposed new constitution. Viva Chile!

  1. They're probably wishing Pinochet had been more thorough.
One thing we know, they won't stop.
They'll pass laws and intimidate their Supreme Court.

  2. This is interesting. The newly elected Australian Labor (lefty/Marxist) government is talking about a similar thing here. They are proposing a referendum to change the constitution to give Indigenous people a Voice to parliament.
Apparently the vote we all get is not enough voice for them.
They are very light on detail but have already said that anyone that votes against it is a racist bastard.
Australians historically vote no to referendums and it needs a yes vote in the majority of to states to pass.
Hope this one gets shown the door as well

You don't need to know the details. Just vote the way you are told to vote, and let your betters run things the way that is best for them...I mean, best for you!

  5. And some western news outlets are already whining that the vote was influenced by "misinformation".
