When we lived in Richmond, Va, we were members of a Catholic congregation in which the Latin mass was celebrated - with the permission of the bishop, I hasten to point out; this was no break-away group. We were Catholic traditionalists, and while the members were socially conservative, and presumably politically conservative, too, there were no signs of extremism, whatsoever. In fact, I don't recall ever having, or even overhearing, a conversation there that went beyond very elemental party politics, and very few of those. This was just a group of believers who valued the beauty of the old mass, which the modern church, especially under the current pope, seems intent on suppressing, since Francis sees himself as a hip, very with-it kind of prelate.
But now I learn that, once again, I had managed to stumble into a white supremacist incubator which smelled of potential terrorism. That's right, The Fascist Bureau of Intimidation actually identified traditional Catholics as a potential breeding ground for white terrorism. Tucker Carlson reports.
Update And it's even worse in Canada: "Catholic School Pupil Who Voiced Catholic Beliefs on Gender Arrested".
Maybe the FBI should build their new HQ In Canada.
ReplyDeleteSay, the Yukon.
Sounds perfect.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I would have never believed that the US and Canadian governments would attack free speech, and freedom of religion in my lifetime, if ever.
ReplyDeleteSecond, of all the things I could imagine they WOULD attack if they did, the Catholic Church and publicly saying that there are only two genders would have never even been on the list.
Oh, SMOD, where are you?
Thanks for shooting off your mouth, Paco. Now you and everybody commenting here is on another list.
ReplyDeleteAgain.
Me, I figured I've been on a list ever since Janet Napolitano identified me as a domestic terrorism threat, on the grounds that I was a veteran.
What's one more list. I'm sure that most of us are enrolled on more than two or three lists. Heck, we're short of being on the Post Office's board. We're in good company.
DeleteStephen: Dude, you're a veteran? Consider yourself banned. Can't have your kind swaggering around here.
ReplyDeleteR-man: Just exactly where is that damned meteor, anyway? Wait...you don't supposed that's what Biden's nurses made him shoot down, do you?
Maybe instead of thinking of ways to divert a meteor away from Earth, they should be thinking of ways to direct one at us. A really big one.
ReplyDeleteGlobal euthanasia.
Gee. So that makes the Kennedys.... What's Nancy Pelosi have to say, because she's a "professed" Catholic. I know, I know, she's professed many things. She's also a relative of Pinocchio, not that far back.
