ReplyDeleteHuh. I kind of assumed that the traditional cigarette pack had existed for as long as cigarettes were commercially produced.
I didn't even notice the can. I did a little research and found out that cigarettes were sold in cans and rectangular tins as far back as the post-Civil War period. The original tins, as you might expect, are very collectible. I believe the familiar paper packs originated shortly before WWI.
