"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
A very nice piece, well played, although I doubt such an ensemble ever performed at a local event, way back when.
ReplyDeleteI love watching orchestra musicians. They not only play, they practically dance while they're playing. This particular group needed scarves their heads and golden rings in their ears.
ReplyDeleteThe Norwegian Chamber Orchestra is much more fun to watch than most ensembles. They have many performances on YouTube, and tend to play with real enthusiasm. Their performance of Telemann's Don Quixote Burlesque takes the "burlesque" idea to a hilarious extreme and is worth 13 minutes of your time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBen-ws1AnI.
ReplyDeleteI'd be afraid to be second chair violin. First chair looks like he's about to put his colleague's eye out.
ReplyDeleteYes they're a terrific group of musicians. I really liked the Burlesque too, thanks A & A.
