"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh

That's why I never had any patience with well heeled oh-so-respectable "conservatives" pointing and shrieking "hypocrites!" at the left. For one thing, they don't give a damn what we say about them.
ReplyDeleteBut more importantly, they have never been hypocrites. Their sole principle is "power, by any means necessary." And they have never betrayed that principle. So regardless of any disconnect between what they say and what they do, their actions have always been consistent and in accordance with their single principle. Words are cheap, and leftists are not bound by them anyway. Ignore what they say, watch what they do, and you'll see that they are remarkably single minded and focused.
Their truth is behind their fascade.
DeleteYeah, but how much real power are they going to have with a ruined, third world country?
ReplyDeleteBut we'll all be equal. Everyone gets a shithole.
DeleteSo this is the second time within a week that I quote Milton:
ReplyDelete"Better to reign in Hell than to serve in Heaven."
They'd rather rule over ruins than share prosperity.
The real danger isn't with the people who single-mindedly pursue power. The real danger lies with those people who close their eyes to that single-mindedness, or let themselves be gulled by pie-in-the-sky promises. In other words, the "nice" people who think everybody else is nice too, if you just give them a chance.
ReplyDeleteWell put, but the one can't be without the other.
