"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
I grew up watching Canadian TV, so curling is not new to me. But it has been puzzling, because the "sport" of shoving rocks across the ice, while sweeping in front of them, has always been exciting as watching paint dry. Indeed, I'd rather watch paint dry. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?
ReplyDeleteStill, the manufacture of those stones is indeed fascinating, and new to me in detail. That's a lot of artisan work there.
The first time I ever heard of curling was about ten years ago. When I saw a video, I laughed out loud.
ReplyDeleteI went to the 06 Olympics in Turin, curling tickets were easy to get so we went.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun.
Of course, being Italy, vino, beer, liquor and good food was freely available at all venues at all times.
There's nothing like watching curling at 8am, eating great aged pig products, awesome spoiled milk and drinking fermented grapes.
Eeee-tal-ya!
