"It's a dog's life"

That's an expression that originally referred to a miserable existence - but this guy apparently doesn't see it that way: "Japanese man who bought £12,000 dog costume finally goes outside... and immediately makes some canine friends as he settles into his new life as a collie".

The real test will come when he has to find a way to get Timmy out of the well.

Used to be you read something like that and immediately thought "Either happened in Japan because they're weird or in Germany because they're freaking degenerate perverts."

But today? I'm surprised that this is only happening in Japan. Why not in the US? And why not under the aegis of a dozen support groups? And which stripe on the PDQEIEIO flag is theirs? And why isn't there a (Democrat) elected official proudly claiming membership in this "community?" And don't they have at least one popular magazine devoted to them, plus at least three "academic" journals? And why hasn't the Vice President given an address at their national convention, declaring that these people have always been a vibrant and important part of American history?

  2. Why limit yourself to a costume when surgery would be so much more affirming.

  3. Stephen: I was originally going to use a title like "The Japanese are different" or something similar, when I decided, for the reasons you enumerate, this absurdity can happen anywhere now.

  6. Does the person who takes him for walkies also carry a poop bag and clean up after him? I mean, is it the whole doggie experience or not?

Yes, I know, but this is the way my mind works.
