I guess the Motel 6 was full

"FEMA officials are staying at $1,000-a-night luxury hotels in Maui amid recovery efforts in Lahaina".

Meanwhile, this is so close to Biden's thoughtless babbling that I'm not sure it even qualifies as satire: "Biden Tells Fire Victims He Sympathizes Because One Time He Walked On The Beach Without Sandals And The Sand Was Really Hot".

  1. Well, since the governor has told tourists to stay away, at least the rooms get occupancy. And the hotels get revenue.

  3. Theoretically, FEMA could be leasing entire hotels at cut rate prices -- I've seen that before.

But I've also seen FEMA ignored disasters so they could attend conferences in very nice locations.

Thing is, this is not a new issue. But the feds just don't worry about optics when it comes to their personal comfort.
