"British Police ‘Are Giving in to the Mob’".
It would be more accurate to say that they are now part of the mob.
"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh

DEI recruitment goals guarantee an influx of non-Brits who lack British values and sense of right and wrong.
ReplyDeleteExactly so.
ReplyDeleteSo we may add the fuzz to the Left's storm troops, along with antifa and BLM.
ReplyDeleteAt least in Old Blighty. Here, they're generally content to simply stand on the sidelines, avoiding eye contact as the last two do the dirty work. Provided they're local cops and not Feds, I mean. Then all bets are off and you're likely to get a 9mm round right through the MAGA hat.
My view is that we baby-boomers are the last of the Victorian gentlemen, clinging to old fashioned chivalry in an age of scoundrels. A lady's wish must always be respected, even if it's to be an Anglican bishop in a lesbian marriage. To be blunt, the peasants forever turned a blind eye to the perversions of their 'betters'. And Muslims must be shown Christian charity even when they're cutting your throat, just like in the old days...tally ho, charge of the Light Brigade and all that.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile it's leaders from remoter parts of the old British Empire who look on in dismay - African Anglican bishops are the strongest hold-outs against gay-ification for example.
And you may not know that it's Home Secretary Suella Braverman asking the police why they don't treat these 'protestors' like the IRA. And she's 'dot head' Indian - part Mauritian Tamil (like Kamala Harris). But as I say Suella's conservatism is very common among non-white British in my experience - like my wife who grew up in British Trinidad in the Caribbean where she saw the Queen.
Braverman is nominally the boss of the police, yet they refuse madam's request because they are above politics doncha know. Of course it's all BS and the BBC is captured by propagandists in reality, but chivalry demands we remain gentlemen even unto death like on the Titanic.
The old white English are calling Suella and Sunak 'far right extremists' for goodness' sake:

Some old soldiers in the pro-Palestinian march 'for peace' - because the BBC would never lie, they think.
Bruce - From what I've read (and seen), it's the same in the Catholic Church: the African clergy are far and away more conservative in their doctrine than their counterparts in Europe and South America (and, sadly, the U.S.). In fact, the late priest and author, Malachi Martin, made one of the heroes of his novel about a polarizing papal succession, The Final Conclave, an African bishop.
ReplyDeleteWhat I'm saying is that sometimes deeply rooted traditions make you stronger and sometimes they make you weaker. In the English case it's the latter. Especially after all the English with gumption left and went overseas. What's left of the old population is docile pudding. It's no wonder migrants rise to the top there, because they have spirit.
ReplyDeleteLast year on Facebook I followed a group celebrating pioneers of electronic music. That day they featured the woman who created the Dr Who theme, great stuff. Then the first comment said 'Let's not forget the most famous woman electronic pioneer - Wendy Carlos' !!! (Walter Carlos changed his name to Wendy in late 1970s after selling lots of records as 'Walter'. 'And she's transgender...' said the comment. This was by a typical old Englishman.
Instead of pointing out the problems with celebrating this 'woman', the rest of the comments, mostly by more old Englishmen, piled on with praise for 'Wendy', not one mentioned Walter. I stopped following the group right then. It would have been like arguing with a herd of cows.
What the hell is this? I thought. I think it's ye olde English chivalry, but applied by people with no discernment, too dumb to see the problem, in short. Peasants conditioned to defer to their 'betters'. And they apply this to Muslims too.
Meanwhile in nations experiencing a renewal of patriotism, outside the Western mainstream, this same deeply ingrained thinking is making them stronger.
You'll probably see this:

'Firebrand', but as the first comment on the above Twitter link says, 'She's just saying what everyone's thinking'. You're an extremist now if you speak common sense.
