Blogging may be sluggish

Mrs. Paco and I have both contrived to come down with Covid, so we're pretty much just moving around like zombies. We're taking medication for it, however, so perhaps we'll be back up to speed toward the end of the week.

  1. Ah, Christmas memories. And here I was going to ask about flooding. Speaking of flooding, any word from the basement? Hopefully they don't have that Chinese affliction. It's hard pitching out water with the manual pump when under the weather.

How did the current situation affect Christmas plans? Is everyone ok in Virginia?

Prayers and all best wishes for a speedy recovery!

  2. Be well, Mr. and Mrs. Paco. COVID is survivable, but it does make you feel like you wish you could die (I know this from experience). My worst symptoms only lasted a couple of days and then eased up, except for a cough that persisted for weeks before it eventually resolved itself. And instead of losing my sense of smell, it got hyperactive. I could smell EVERYTHING in great detail.

  5. Hope you recover soon and without issues. If you don't, let me know and I'll send you some of my stash of ivermectin.

  6. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

Getting old can be really annoying, sometimes.

  7. Take care. It seems to affect everyone differently.

  8. Best of luck. There appears to be plenty of advice and OTC medications effective in dealing with COVID and mitigating the aftereffects. Ignore the fraudulent public health experts and look up real people who have dealt with this.

  9. Not a great time to be down with anything. I hope you're both well soon.

  10. Both? That stinks.
    Who's gonna make the soup?

    1. "Who's gonna make the soup?" Campbell, or Progressive, or the local Chinese restaurant. However, being the good Conservatives that the Pacos are, they probably will forego the second.

  11. I had Covid once.
It was about 30 hours of suck, Friday night/Sat morning to Sunday afternoon.
I'm just grateful I didn't get the vaxx, it probably would have been much worse.

The worst part was there was nobody to make me soup.
Funnily enough, I had Campbell's Sat and then Chinese Sunday.

    1. Nobody to make you soup? Were you too far from a restaurant, or didn't they have delivery, or your suck was so bad that you couldn't open a can and nuke the contents. Poor guy.

    2. Oh, I made the soup, I just felt I shouldn't have to.

    3. Conflicted much? Conservative: I made the soup. Liberal: I shouldn't have to make the soup. Watch out for those latter tendencies

  12. Best wishes Mr & Mrs P.
May I suggest some horse wormer for your aperitif?

  13. Fortunately, we had tomato soup and chicken noodle soup, and those items have helped out a lot. Mrs. Paco's temperature got up to almost 105 yesterday morning, but we got it down, and today it's been normal. I'm plagued by some kind of weird migraine headache that comes in bursts: like someone hitting me in the head with a ball peen hammer. The pain is highly localized and only lasts a few seconds at a time, and seems to be triggered by moving around. Overall, though, we seem to be on the mend.

    1. Thankfully her fever broke. Sorry to hear about your migraines. At least it's only for a few seconds, although they are excruciating seconds. And since you have noticed they are triggerd by movement, you, of course, know not to move around. Are you familiar with the childhood game Statue.

Keep on mending! May this be in the rear view before Christmas!
