Apparently the powers that be aren't going to be satisfied until our Navy sinks to the levels of capability manifested by the Czarist Navy in the Russo-Japanese War.

Admirals repeatedly claiming that European allies can make up for deficiencies in US Naval capacity has nothing to do with overestimating European capabilities.

Of course we can depend on Europe for self-defense. Never mind that the U.S. has had to step into every European land war since the turn of the 20th century.

Velly intellesting.
I've been following John Konrad for a bit now ... ... I believe he does know what he's talking about. Even if it is depressing.
ReplyDeleteI don't claim any first hand knowledge of the internal politics found within DoD, but I have a small chunk of the Deep State in action. So his comments about the top Navy brass being more arse covering bureaucrats than warriors make sense.
For example, risk avoidance has been a central tenet of the federal bureaucracy for a couple of decades now. It's practically in their DNA.
