"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
When we were living in Florida, I used to take my dog over to a small beach just behind a restaurant (Juana's Pagodas, nice place to have a cold beer, eat gator bites, and watch the bay at sunset). The owner told us that she didn't mind dogs on the beach (a no no in most places in Florida unless you own property there, and still restricted to certain hours). Then, one day, a sign appeared at the steps down to the beach, no dogs allowed, that very same red stripe across a dog). I was so tempted to throw it into the weeds, but never had the courage. I just ignored it, and nobody ever came to tell me different.
ReplyDeleteWe took Daisy to the beach a couple of times, but she kept trying to drink the water (a loveable mutt, but not the sharpest tack in the box).
