Here's Tennessee Ernie Ford with one of his hits, "Shotgun Boogie" (note the great Speedy West on pedal steel, and his frequent recording partner, Jimmy Bryant, on electric guitar).
Bonus video! A very young Brenda Lee belts out that rock-a-billy favorite, "Hound Dog".
Tennessee Ernie Ford appears with a shotgun for a prop, and no one at that time was the least bit triggered or traumatized. Seems normal since the song is titled "Shotgun Boogie".
ReplyDeleteSo glad I got to grow up in that non-woke world!
Me, too, brother!
ReplyDeleteAgreed on both, rinardman! Btw, I wonder if there were any gun incidents during the making of TV shows or movies back in the day. I don't remember hearing of any, perhaps it was because I was a kid imaging aiding Roy Roger and Swamp Fox.
