"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
Re that Biden/light bulb joke - former Australian Senator Stephen Loosely said on Sky that Joe's SOTU was the best ever.
ReplyDeleteThere's low standards, and there's no standards, and now apparently the standards can be subterranean too.
Taking down a great white shark.
ReplyDeleteWhat Jaws would have been if Chuck Norris was in it.
Oh oh ... I can relate to many of those "White Rural Rage" examples.
ReplyDeleteAm I supposed to denounce myself?
Did Stephen Loosley say that? It always amazes me how poorly informed our ALP types are in their echo-chamber. And Loosley runs the US Studies Centre at Sydney Uni for goodness sake.
ReplyDeleteMerely labelling every accurate insight a 'conspiracy theory' for us 'cookers' has shut down critical thought and led to many of our elites living in an out of touch fairyland. This is dangerous.
Bruce, apparently Loosely said it on a show called The Jury on Sky. I wonder if this show is making much of an impression; I can't find a link to any programs anywhere.
ReplyDeleteThat's ok, I get the impresssion that our ALPs have normalised Biden in their minds so it fits. It's the parable of the emperor's new clothes for real.
ReplyDeleteThen there are the business-as-usual folks, like the experts in Murdoch press talking about Trump as 'political genius' with a clever 'strategy' now it looks like he'll win.
Of course none of that is true - Trump is a hit or miss guy who had little idea what he was getting into, and his success is simply because people are fed up and there's no one else.
This pretense of some grand struggle of strategy between Trump and Biden is the next media narrative. Business-as-usual.
