We had one of these, or something very like it, when I was a kid. I tried to give myself a haircut one time, and wound up with a small bald spot on the back of my head. It was a source of great amusement to my friends: "Hey, look, Paco has mange!"

Dang, I must have had one of these when I was in my 20s! But the bald spot didn't grow back in. :-(
