A neighbor told me she saw a follow-up story, and it turns out the idiot who put his vehicle in the hole drove around a barricade, and after he climbed out of the back door, he headed for the hills. I really don't know how he figures to escape a discussion with the police - I mean, they almost surely came along and got his license plate number.
