One of the the biggest problems with democracy
And certainly the biggest problem with our own, right now.
Once you make a delusion part of your identity (which is what too many people do) there's no dislodging it ... until they get mugged by reality, and sometimes not even then.
And you have to admit, Dimocrats are a determined lot.

DeleteFor many people beliefs are a positional marker, a public demonstration of your value. And so abandoning them can be a negation of self.
ReplyDeleteIf you pull up your "In this house we believe..." yard sign, then you may as well not even exist.
